Richard Shannon

Richard Andrew Shannon of Williamstown, KY was born September 18, 1935 in Washington D.C. and died July 11, 2016 at Grant Center, Williamstown at the age of 80.

He was the son of the late Chester Armon and Susie Francis Hatton Shannon. He was a retired welder with Hess & Eisenhardt in Cincinnati, and a U.S. Army Veteran. On July 5, 1956 he was united in marriage to Patricia Ann King Shannon who preceded him in death in 2010. In addition to his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by 1 son, Richard Edward Shannon; 1 daughter, Kathy Sue Shannon; 1 grandson, Joseph “Joey” Wood; 1 sister Dorothy King; and 2 brothers, Stuart and Dennis Shannon.

Surviving is 4 daughters, Sandra Marie (Bobby) Robbins of Williamstown, Deborah Ann (Danny) Sherrod of Dry Ridge, Patricia Lynn (Ronnie) Dixon of Fredericksburg, VA, and Linda Jean (Eric) Morris of Dry Ridge; 1 son, William Lee (Terry Taylor) Shannon of King George, VA; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown followed by burial in the Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Visitation will be 11:00-1:00pm Friday at the funeral home.
