Philip Raymond Harney of Williamstown, KY was born March 8, 1940 in Cincinnati, OH and died Tuesday, June 28, 2016 in Williamstown at the age of 76.
Philip was the son of the late Ben Granville and Rose Marie Riley Harney. He was a U.S. Army Reserve Veteran, a retired Sergeant for the Kentucky State Police Post 6, former City of Williamstown Police Chief, an SPI Graduate, FBI National Academy Graduate, a member of the Crittenden-Dry Ridge #694 F & AM, and a member of the Immanuel Church of Christ, St. Bernard, OH. On December 31, 1959, Philip was united in marriage to his wife Sandra Kalkbrenner Harney.
In addition to his wife Sandra, surviving is 2 sons, Philip Harney of Walton, KY and Russell E. Harney of Dry Ridge, KY; 1 daughter, Peggy Harney of Williamstown, KY; 1 brother, Gary Michael Harney of Reynoldsburg, OH; 1 sister, Shirley Robinson of Lawrenceburg, IN; 2 grandchildren, Andrew Jones and Sam Harney; 2 step-grandchildren, Daniel and Michael Eldridge; and 2 step-great grandchildren, Zachery and Alayna Eldridge. In addition to his parents, Philip was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Ben and Gene Harney, and 1 sister, Sonia Finnel.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown, followed by burial in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 11:00-1:00pm Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the funeral home.
