James Goddard Rutledge

February 9, 1927 - December 27, 2015

Mr. James G. Rutledge, of Scott County, passed away Sunday, December 27 at the Dover Manor Nursing Home in Georgetown, KY. at the age of 88.  Mr. Rutledge was born February 9, 1927 in Fayette County, KY. to the late John G. Rutledge and Katherine Roberson Rutledge.  Mr. Rutledge was a retired machinist having worked for IBM, Square D and Lex-Air.  Mr. Rutledge was a member of the Northside Christian Church in Georgetown, KY. and he proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

Mr. Rutledge leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 68 years, Elaine Jones Rutledge, 1 daughter: Janet Faye Preston of Sadieville, KY., sons: James D. "Dan" Rutledge of Independence, KY., William H. "Bill" Rutledge of Lexington, KY., Donald Lee Rutledge of Stanfield, N.C., a brother: Charles M. Rutledge of Alabama, sisters: Eula Jean Hamilton of Corinth, KY., Hazel Mulberry of Sadieville, KY., Mary Katherine Crook of Corinth, KY. and he was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. James G. Rutledge will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, December 30 in the chapel of the McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth.  Visitation will be there on Tuesday, December 29 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm.  Burial with military honors will be in the Corinth Cemetery.
