Charles H. Rudd

March 30, 1946 - November 10, 2015

Mr. Charles H. Rudd, of Owen County, KY. passed away Tuesday, November 10 at home at the age of 69. Mr. Rudd was born March 30, 1946 in Morgan County, KY. to the late Kelly Rudd and Lizzie King Rudd. Mr. Rudd was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad where he worked as a welder for 27 years. Mr. Rudd proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Rudd enjoyed all things outdoors including hunting, fishing and his pet donkey named Bob. He will be fondly remembered by his family for his love of socializing and visiting with family and friends. It can be said that truly he never met a stranger. For many years, he and his wife were actively involved in a nursing home ministry where they shared the gospel and brightened the day of the residents. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rudd was preceded in death by a sister: Elizabeth Cooley. Mr. Rudd leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Cynthia Kaye Woodyard Rudd, sons: Charles H. Rudd, Jr. of California, Garrison Wright and his wife Shawna of Corinth, KY., Chad Wright and his wife Tara of Corinth, KY., brothers: Wilmer Rudd and his wife Carolyn of Lexington, KY., Richard Rudd and his wife Judy of Mt. Sterling, KY., Hershell Prater and his wife Judy of Sadieville, KY. He was also blessed with 4 grandchildren: Benjamin Wright and his wife Hannah, Nicole Schidecker and her husband Talmon, Kara Wright and Bailey Wright. Funeral services for Mr. Rudd will be conducted 12:00 noon Saturday, November 14 in the chapel of the McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth with Bro. Gary Eden and Bro. Brad Vincent officiating. Visitation will be there on Friday from 5:00 - 9:00 pm. Burial with military honors will be in the New Columbus Cemetery, Owen County. Memorial contributions if desired may be directed to the Disabled American Veterans or to the New Columbus Cemetery.
