Gene Alvin Smith

Mr. Gene Alvin Smith, of Carrolton, KY. passed away Saturday, September 5 at the Mercy Fairfield Hospital in Fairfield, OH. at the age of 71. Mr. Smith was born November 20, 1943 in Grant County, KY. to the late Alvin P. Smith and Mildred Lee Riddle Smith. Mr. Smith was a retired computer technician for Xerox Corporation and a member of the Sherman Baptist Church. Mr. Smith proudly served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Smith leaves to mourn his passing sons: Gene Anthony Smith, Gregory Allen Smith, Randel Scott Smith all of Alabama and a daughter: Brook Smith of Alabama. He has 2 sisters: Joyce Ann Smith of Gallatin County, KY. and Gloria Frances Roberts of Tennessee, 1 brother: David Wayne Smith of Florence, KY. and he was blessed with 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Funeral services for Mr. Gene Alvin Smith will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, September 10 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge with Rev. Bob Tarasiak officiating. Visitation will be there on Thursday from 12:00 noon - 2:00 pm. Burial with military honors will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.
