Ronnie Jones

May 13, 1935 - August 29, 2015

Mr. Ronald Jones, of Grant County, passed away Saturday, August 29 in Florence, KY. at his daughter's residence at the age of 80. Mr. Jones was born May 13, 1935 in Owen County, KY. to the late Dave P. Jones and Blanche Clifton Jones. Mr. Jones was a lifelong farmer and a machinist for the former Clark Equipment Manufacturing Co. in Georgetown, KY. Mr. Jones was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ and sang for many years with the Simpson Brothers. Mr. Jones will be fondly remembered by his family for his love and devotion to his family and his church. He enjoyed fishing and especially horseback riding. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by a brother: Clifford Jones and by a sister: Faye Smoot. Mr. Jones leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 58 years: Betty Simpson Jones, 2 daughters: Rana Whitton of Florence, KY., Rhonda (Jeremy) Carpenter of Dry Ridge, KY., 1 sister: Brenda Leach of Corinth, KY., and he was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Ronald Jones will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, September 2 at the Sherman Church of Christ with Rev. Scottie Simpson and Rev. Gene Kearns officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1 from 5:00 - 9:00 pm at the Sherman Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Memorial contributions if desired may be directed to the Hospice of the Bluegrass or to the Antioch Church of Christ.
