Mrs. Florence R. Davis, of Williamstown, KY. passed away Monday, August 3 at her home at the age of 92. Mrs. Davis was born June 24, 1923 in Cincinnati, OH. to the late Joseph & Ethel Shirar George. She was retired from U.S. Playing Card Co. In addition to her parents Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Lambert Davis & was preceded in death by a half brother: Joseph George of Cincinnati, OH. & a brother: Chester George of Orlando, FL. Mrs. Davis leaves to mourn her passing her daughter: Barbara DiGirolamo & her husband John of Williamstown, KY., granddaughter: Michelle Ross of Cincinnati, OH., grandson: Michael (Tonya) Hare of Williamstown, KY., great grandchildren: Jennifer Kathman of Lexington, KY., Scott Kathman of Florence, KY., Caylin & Landen Hare of Williamstown, KY., step great grandchilden: Broderick and Brennan Beighle, step grandchildren: Vincent DiGirolamo of Harrison, OH., Marcia Russell of Cincinnati, OH., step great grandchildren: Dominic & Demetri DiGirolamo & Natasha Russell. 1 great, great grandson: Rorik Kathman. Step great, great grandchildren: Zach, Joseph, Phillip & Leah. 1 sister: Mary Zander of Cincinnati, OH., nephews: Charles Zander, Joe George., niece: Denise George & many great nephews & nieces. Mrs. Davis was a snowbird along with her daughter & son-in-law. When her pulmonary disease worsened in January her goal was to get back to Kentucky to see her fifth generation born & to die at home with her family. She never wanted to die in the cold winter. She made her goals and was able to see the birth of her great, great grandson, Rorik Kathman who was born May 23, 2015. Funeral services for Mrs. Florence R. Davis will be conducted 12:00 pm Friday, August 7 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge. Visitation will be there on Friday from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. Burial will be in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger, KY. Memorial contributions if desired may be directed to St. Elizabeth Hospice or to the American Lung Association.
