Mr. William Kelly, Jr. of Sadieville, KY. passed away Tuesday, February 17 at the St. Joseph Hospital East in Lexington, KY. at the age of 79. William was born on January 31, 1936 in Hazard, KY. to the late William Kelly, Sr. and Bertha York Kelly. William proudly served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Kelly was retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a dedicated mail carrier for 30 years. After his retirement from the Post Office he worked for Cracker Barrel for 10 years. William was an avid U.K. basketball and football fan. He enjoyed gardening and going to the Lexington Horse Park. William had a love for animals of all kinds. At the time of his passing he was a member of the Hinton United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Mabel Hall, Pauline Collins and Dorothy Collins. 1 brother: Fred Kelly William leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife: Thelma Blair Kelly; He is also survived by many extended family members. Funeral Services for William will be conducted 1pm, Wednesday, February 25 in the chapel of the McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth with Rev. Pamela Mann officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Raven Creek Cemetery in Harrison County. Visitation will also be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations please go to the American Heart Association and the Humane Society of the USA through the funeral home. The McDaniel Funeral Home of Corinth, KY. is entrusted with the arrangements for Mr. William Kelly, Jr.
