John Wilfred Howard

August 19, 1924 - November 5, 2014

Mr. John Wilfred Howard of Owenton, KY. passed away Wednesday, November 5 at the Golden Living Center in Frankfort, KY. at the age of 90. Mr. Howard was born August 19, 1924 in Owen County, KY. to the late John David Howard and Veral Whitton Howard. Mr. Howard was a lifelong farmer and at the time of his passing he was a member of the Lusby Mill Baptist Church. Mr. Howard proudly served his country in the United States Army in World War II. In addition to his parents, Mr. Howard was preceded in death by his wife: Leona Sparrow Howard, by a daughter: Sandi White in 2011 and by his siblings. Mr. Howard leaves to mourn his passing 4 daughters: Bonnie Woodyard of Owenton, KY., Connie Prather of Owenton, KY., Kaye Turner of Georgetown, KY. and Teressa Cozine of Paris, KY. He was blessed with 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Howard will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday, November 8 in the chapel of the McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth, KY. with Bro. Logan McCullah and Bro. John Thomas officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Burial with military honors will be in the Souder Cemetery, Owen County. Memorial contributions if desired are suggested to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
