Mary Lee True

Mrs. Mary Lee True, of Owen County, KY. passed away Wednesday, August 13 at home at the age of 95. Mrs. True was born July 8, 1919 in Owen County, KY. to the late Arthur and Ruth Wilson. Mrs. True was a retired teacher for the Owen County School System and a member of the New Columbus Baptist Church. Mrs. True was passionate about children and their well being as exemplified by her many years of teaching, beginning at age 18 when she taught in a one room schoolhouse. Mrs. True and her late husband were owners of the former Jones and True General Store which later became known as the True General Store. Mrs. True had a love for flowers and quilting. Mrs. True was preceded in death by her husband: Floren Davis True who passed away January 13, 1977. She was also preceded in death by all of her siblings. Mrs. True leaves to mourn her passing a daughter: Nita Smith and her husband Joe of Milford, OH. and a son: Mark True and his wife Connie of Corinth, KY. She was blessed with 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. True will be conducted 3:00 pm Sunday, August 17 in the chapel of the McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth. Visitation will be there on Sunday from 12:00 noon - 3:00 pm. Burial will be in the True Cemetery, Owen County. Memorial contributions if desired are suggested to the St. Elizabeth Hospice.
