Ella Josephine Schulker

October 6, 1923 - August 8, 2014

Mrs. Ella Josephine Schulker of Dry Ridge, KY. passed away Friday, August 8 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Florence, KY. at the age of 90. Ella Jo as she was known to all was born October 6, 1923 in Elliston, KY. to the late Calvin Morgan Ferrell and Effie Blackburn Ferrell. Ella Jo was a homemaker and a long time faithful member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years and was active in the Ladies Missionary group. Ella Jo was a member and past Matron of the Williamstown Chapter #301 Order of the Eastern Star and held the position of Electa for many years. She originally joined the former Dry Ridge OES Chapter in 1956. In addition to her parents, Ella Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Schulker in 1992. Ella Jo leaves to mourn her passing a niece: Sharon Schulker Fields of Frankfort, KY. and a nephew: Larry Atha of Warsaw, KY. She also leaves behind a host of friends and loved ones from her years in the Order of the Eastern Star and her church family at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Funeral services for Ella Jo will be conducted 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 12 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Marksberry and Rev. Tom Sparks officiating. Visitation will be Monday, August 11 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge, KY. from 4:00 - 8:00 pm and on Tuesday at the church the hour before the funeral. There will be an Order of the Eastern Star service Monday at 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Memorial contributions if desired are requested to be made to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Building Fund.
