Mrs. LaRue Rogers Howard of Florence, KY. formerly of Corinth, KY. passed away Sunday, July 6 at the Florence Park Care Center. Mrs. Howard was born in Corinth, KY. to the late Lewis Alvin Rogers and Mary Frances Gill Rogers. Mrs. Howard was a retired bookkeeper and at the time of her passing she was a member of the Corinth Christian Church. Mrs. Howard's long history of volunteer work included Girl Scouts, The Salvation Army Board, The American Cancer Society, the St. Luke Hospital and the Auxiliary Board. Mrs. Howard's other interests included the Boone County Homemakers, the Florence Younger Woman's Club and the Order of the Eastern Star. She will always be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Other very special interests included her church and her bridge club. In addition to her parents and 5 siblings, Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Robert Lewis Howard on February 24, 2014. Mrs. Howard leaves to mourn her passing a daughter: Mary Jane (Richard) Hensley of Frankfort, KY., a son: David L. (Norma) Howard of Lexington, KY., 2 granddaughters: Suzanne Hensley of Frankfort, KY., Mary Lee Greene of Mt. Sterling, KY., 4 great grandchildren: Alyssa, Kara, Damon, Randy and 1 great, great granddaughter: Lillian Elizabeth Miley. Funeral services for Mrs. Howard will be conducted 12:00 noon Thursday, July 10 at the Corinth Christian Church with Bro. Gary Griesser officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 11:00 am until time of the service. Burial will be in the Corinth Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, the Corinth Christian Church or the Salvation Army. The arrangements for Mrs. Howard have been entrusted to the McDaniel Funeral Home of Corinth.
