Loretta M. Kelly

Mrs. Loretta M. Kelly of Dry Ridge, KY. passed away Sunday, June 15 at St. Elizabeth Florence at the age of 96. Mrs. Kelly was born October 8, 1917 in Corinth, KY. to the late N. B. Neal, Sr. and Elizabeth Florence Guill Neal. Mrs. Kelly retired from teaching at the Dry Ridge Elementary School after 35 years. She then served as a substitute teacher very nearly on a full time basis. Mrs. Kelly was passionate about kids and their well being. Mrs. Kelly was a long time Christian and faithful member of the Dry Ridge Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school teacher until only recently. In addition to her parents Mrs. Kelly was preceded in death by her husband: James David Kelly on December 27, 1982, by her daughter: Nancy Switzer on June 11, 2008 and she was the last of 6 siblings. Mrs. Kelly leaves to mourn her passing 3 grandchildren: Kiesha (Jerry) Morris of Williamstown, KY., Robert (Brenda) Switzer of Loveland, OH. and Sonya Lambert of Tennessee. She also leaves behind 3 great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Funeral services for Mrs. Kelly will be conducted 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 18 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home with Rev. Willie Ailstock officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 18 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Dry Ridge Baptist Church.
