Jill Hammond

May 28, 1938 - March 20, 2014

Mrs. Jill Hammond, of Owen County, passed away Thursday, March 20 at the Owenton Center Nursing Home in Owenton, KY. at the age of 75. Mrs. Hammond was born May 28, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Charles and Eunice Ellis Winer. Mrs. Hammond was a homemaker and former insurance salesperson and real estate salesperson. She loved to tend to her flowers and she enjoyed home decorating. At the time of her passing, Mrs. Hammond was a faithful member of the New Columbus Baptist Church where she formerly served on pulpit committees, sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and was a member of the church WMU. Her family will always remember her especially as a loving and devoted wife and mother. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hammond was preceded in death by a son: Gordon Jeffrey Hammond in the year 2000. Mrs. Hammond leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 56 years, Glen Hammond. She has 1 son: David Scott Hammond of Corinth, KY., 1 brother: Bud Winer of Indianapolis, IN. and she has 1 grandson: Ian Dalton Hammond of Corinth, KY. Funeral services for Mrs. Hammond will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday, March 24 at the New Columbus Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Vincent officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, March 23 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm in the chapel of the McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth. There will be additional visitation on Monday at the church from 11:00 am until the funeral hour. Burial will be in the Souder Cemetery, Owen County. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
