Elmer Roy Kidwell

September 14, 1930 - March 17, 2014

Elmer Kidwell, of Williamstown, KY. passed away Monday, March 17 at his residence at the age of 83. Elmer was born on September 14, 1930 in Covington, KY. to the late Elmer and Elizabeth Goldsberry Kidwell. Elmer served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a combat medic. He was employed as a truck driver for the Buchanan Supply Co. for 42 years. In more recent years Elmer worked as a door greeter for Wal-Mart. At the time of his passing Elmer was a member of the Elsmere, KY. VFW Ralph Fulton Post and a member of the Wilmington Baptist Church in Fiskburg, KY. Elmer enjoyed fishing and had a good sense of humor. In addition to his parents, Elmer was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren. Elmer leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Dora Robinson Kidwell whom he married on September 24, 1955; 2 daughters: Carolyn Kinman of Ocala, FL, and Denise Cavins of Mt. Zion, KY; 3 sons: Ronald Covey of Williamstown, KY, Steve Kidwell of Corinth, KY, and David Kidwell of Dry Ridge, KY; Elmer also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral Services for Elmer will be conducted 2pm Friday, March 21 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge with Rev. Howard Chipman officiating. Burial will be in the Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Visitation will also be on Friday, March 21 from 11am until the funeral hour at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice.
