William Walter Simpson, of Dry Ridge, KY. passed away Wednesday, February 26 at his home at the age of 80. Billy, as he was known to family and friends was born January 26, 1934 in Mason, KY. to the late Paul Conrad Simpson and Margaret Mae Coleman Simpson. Billy came from a large family and was 1 of 16 children. Billy was a carpenter and farmer and a owner/partner in the Northern Kentucky Metal Sales Co. Billy was a long time devoted servant of the Lord and was a member of the Sherman Church of Christ where he formerly served as Deacon , Sunday School teacher and Sunday School Superintendent. Billy was known far and wide when he sang for many years with the Simpson Brothers. Billy will be deeply missed by his wife and children and will always be remembered as a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. Billy leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 60 years, Patsy Colson Simpson, 2 sons: Tommy (Zella) Simpson of Lexington, KY., Scotty (Johnelle) Simpson of Dry Ridge, KY., 2 daughters: Mickie (Dan) Schock of Walton, KY. and Beth (Orman) Glass of Dry Ridge, KY., 3 sisters: Mildred Long of Milford, OH., Joyce Miller of Crittenden, KY. and Margie Harris of Murfreesboro, TN., 6 brothers: Lee Roy Simpson of Dry Ridge, KY., Glenn Simpson of Moores Hill, IN., Virgil Simpson of Hollywood, FL., Charlie Simpson of Nashville, GA., David Simpson of Highland Heights, KY., and Larry Simpson of Williamstown, KY. Billy was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Funeral services for Billy will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday, March 3 at the Sherman Church of Christ with Tommy Simpson and Scotty Simpson officiating. Visitation will be at the Sherman Church of Christ on Sunday, March 2 from 3:00 - 8:00 pm. There will be additional visitation on Monday at the church from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour. Burial will be in the Antioch Church Cemetery at Keefer. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sherman Church of Christ Building Fund. The arrangements for Billy Simpson have been entrusted to the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge, KY.
