Melrose Howard

Mrs. Melrose Howard, of Corinth, KY. passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY. at the age of 89. Mrs. Howard was born January 22, 1925 in Corinth, KY. to the late Herman Jones and Sally White Jones. Mrs. Howard was a retired secretary for the Farmers Home Administration and a long time member of the Corinth Christian Church. Mrs. Howard was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Scott County Homemakers, Corinth Christian Church Ladies Aid and was a member of the Pavillion in Georgetown, KY. where she participated in the water aerobics. Mrs. Howard loved to travel and was a devoted and loving grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid basketball fan and enjoyed following the games of her beloved University of Kentucky Wildcats. Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by her husband: John Warren Howard on January 10, 1984. Mrs. Howard leaves to mourn her passing a daughter, Alice Scheffler and her husband Fred Scheffler of Corinth, KY., 2 grand daughters: Loren Parsons and her husband Jonah Parsons of Florence, KY. and Jayln Scheffler of Corinth, KY., 2 great grandsons: Aidan Parsons and Chase Parsons both of Florence, KY. Funeral services for Mrs. Howard will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, February 15 in the chapel of the McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth, KY. with Rev. Kent Allender and Rev. Quintin McNabb officiating. Burial will be in the Corinth Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Camp Northward or to the American Heart Association.
