John Dawalt

December 19, 1924 - January 28, 2014

Mr. John F. Dawalt of Dry Ridge, KY. passed away on January 28 at St. Elizabeth Florence at the age of 89. Mr. Dawalt was born on December 19, 1924 in Pendleton County, KY. to the late Leland and Ora Caldwell Dawalt. John was a life long farmer. He was the director of the Grant County Farm Bureau as well as the director of the Grant County Soil Conservation where he received the Distinguished Member Award. John was a member and long time deacon at the Knoxville Baptist Church. In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Dawalt on August 5, 2010. John leaves to mourn his passing a son: John B. Dawalt and his wife, Lynda of Dry Ridge, KY; 3 sisters: Geneva Hisel, Jean Ruby and Norma Lawrence all of Dry Ridge, KY. He also leaves behind 2 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Dawalt will be conducted 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 1 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge with Rev. Josh Landrum and Dr. Dale Beighle officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Visitation will be on Saturday, February 1 at the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home from 11:00 am until the funeral hour at 2:00 pm. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Knoxville Baptist Church.
