Gordon Scott

Mr. Gordon Scott, a Williamstown resident, passed away on Saturday, September 21 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Florence at the age of 82. Bro. Scott was born May 25, 1931 in Powell County, KY. to the late Henry Ellis Scott and Lilly Mae Bishop Scott. Bro. Scott was a minister of the gospel and pastor of God's Community Church in Williamstown. He formerly served as pastor for the Walnut Grove Church in Stanton, KY. and the Shiloh Community Church in Corinth, KY. He was also a farmer and former factory worker. In addition to his parents, Bro. Scott was preceded in death by his wife: Ella Louise Scott on March 1, 2006 and by a brother, Kenneth Scott. Bro. Scott leaves to mourn his passing a son: Landon "Lanny" Scott of Crittenden, KY., 2 daughters: Penny Wright of Evansville, IN. and Cindy Kinmon of Dry Ridge, KY., 2 brothers: Shirley Scott of Owenton, KY. and Roland Scott of Stanton, KY., 6 grandchildren: Melanie Anderson, Julie Jernigan, Rebekah Depalma, Hannah Kincheloe, Caleb Kinmon and Jalen Kinmon, and he has 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services for Bro. Scott will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, September 25 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge with Rev. Gayliss Gaines officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 24 from 5:00 - 9:00 pm. Burial will be in the Williamstown Cemetery.
