Michael Wayne "Mickey" Covey, of Williamstown, KY. passed away Sunday, May 5 at home at the age of 61. Mickey was born January 14, 1952 in Owenton, KY. to Lula O'Hara Covey and the late Ervin Bay Covey. Mickey was a welder for Clow Corporation and a member of the Stewartsville Baptist Church where he served as deacon, Sunday school teacher and song leader. Mickey was a member of the Grant County Cattlemen's Association and he loved all things outdoors including hunting, fishing, gardening and he most of all enjoyed being with his family and children. Mickey loved his children and was a wonderful and de voted dad. Mickey was preceded in death by his father, Ervin Bay Covey in 1991. Mickey leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 42 years: Linda Mains Covey, 1 daughter: Lori Kidwell of Williamstown, KY., 1 son: Christopher Michael Covey of Florence, KY., 1 grandson: Austin Kidwell of Williamstown, KY., his mother: Lula Covey of Williamstown, KY., 2 sisters: Sue Blackney of Dry Ridge, KY., Helen Lawson of Independence, KY., 7 brothers: Merle Covey of Sparta, KY., Bobby Covey of Glencoe, KY., Donnie Covey & Larry Covey both of Crittenden, KY., Richard Covey of Williamstown, KY., David Covey & Dennis Covey both of Dry Ridge, KY. Funeral services for Mickey will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, May 8 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge with Rev. Harry Readnour officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the funeral home from 5:00 - 9:00 pm. Burial will be in the Jonesville I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
