Carl Walters

Millard Carl Walters, of Crittenden, KY. passed away Saturday, April 20 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, KY. at the age of 80. Carl was born February 25, 1933 in Menefee County, KY. to the late Millard Walters and Develda Williams Walters. Carl was a retired insurance salesman and worked for many years with the Commonwealth Life Insurance Co. Carl was a very active member of the Violet Ridge Church of Christ and he along with his brothers and sister were known far and wide for their musical ability. They sang together for many years as the Walters Family. Carl enjoyed working in his garden and he especially enjoyed his family and being in the company of others. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by a daughter: Brenda Joyce Miller on May 30, 2002 and by a son: Larry Dean Walters on October 12, 2004. Carl leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Dorothy Abercrombie Walters. 1 daughter: Margie Pittman of Elizabethtown, KY., 1 brother: Tommy Walters of Crittenden, KY. He was blessed to have 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services for Carl will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, April 25 at the Violet Ridge Church of Christ with Rev. Dave Shanklin officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 24 from 5:00 - 9:00 pm in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 am until the funeral hour. Burial will be in the Crittenden Cemetery.
