Berdena Collins

Mrs. Berdena Mae Collins, of Dry Ridge, KY. passed away Monday, April 15 at home at the age of 81. Mrs. Collins was born June 4, 1931 in Jonesville, KY. to the late R. C. Stewart and Sula Mason Stewart. Mrs. Collins was a homemaker and had worked 15 years as the head cook for the Grant County Hospital in Williamstown. At the time of her passing Mrs. Collins was a member of Vine Run Baptist Church. Mrs. Collins enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and cooking for family and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband: James C. Collins on August 23, 2009. Mrs. Collins leaves to mourn her passing a daughter: Katrina Hollis of Dry Ridge, KY., 2 sons: Terry J. Collins of Dry Ridge, KY. and Randy L. Collins of Dry Ridge, KY., sister-in-laws: Betty Stewart and Beatrice Atha. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Collins will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge with Rev. Josh Howell officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Burial will be in the New Vine Run Cemetery, Dry Ridge.
