Mrs. Mildred Pauline Rhodus Jenkins, of Williamstown, KY. passed away Monday, January 7 at the Grant Manor Nursing Home at the age of 91. Mrs. Jenkins was born April 12, 1921 in Paint Lick (Garrard County), KY. to the late Price Rhodus and Laura Belle McCreary Rhodus. Mrs. Jenkins returned to school later in life to achieve her dream of graduating from college and becoming a teacher. She served in the Garrard County School system as a teacher and librarian before her retirement. Mrs. Jenkins was a lifelong student and a voracious reader. She enjoyed geneology and traced her family back several centuries. She was a proud member of the John Lillard Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and when her health would allow, she attended the Williamstown Christian Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by 2 sons: Garry Wendell Jenkins who died as an infant and Robin Bronston Jenkins who passed away in 2000. She was also preceded by a granddaughter: Tracy Dawn Jenkins and by 2 brothers and a sister: James Harold Rhodus, Bobby Rhodus, and Betty Rapstine. Mrs. Jenkins leaves to mourn her passing 3 daughters: Beverly Darlene Carter of Williamstown, KY., Sondra Hudgins of Corinth, KY. and Laura Joann Conway of Falmouth, KY., 2 sons: Price Jenkins of Crittenden, KY. and Dan Ward Jenkins of Warsaw, KY., 2 sisters: Doris Souder of Lancaster, KY. and Nancy Smith of Tallahassee, FL., 1 brother: Kenneth Rhodus of Georgetown, Texas. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Jenkins will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, January 10 at the Leavel Green Christian Church in Garrard County, KY. with Bro. Bill Rhodus officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday 5:00 - 9:00 pm in the chapel of the McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth and on Thursday at the church from 12:00 noon - 2:00 pm. Burial will be in the Paint Lick Cemetery, Garrard County.
