Mrs. Ruby Lee Pettit, of Dry Ridge, KY. passed away Thursday, December 6 at her home at the age of 88. Mrs. Pettit was born December 15, 1923 in Grant County, KY. to the late J. D. Webster and Etha Updike Webster. Mrs. Pettit worked for Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. at the age of 16 and she worked for the Wright Aircraft Co. during World War II assembling aircraft for the war effort. Mrs. Pettit was a homemaker and a farmer. At the time of her passing she was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Jonesville. Mrs. Pettit was preceded in death by her husband: Griffith M. Pettit. Mr. Pettit passed away August 1, 1988. She was preceded in death this year by a son: Thomas Griffin Pettit. Thomas passed away July 26, 2012. She was also preceded in death by a brother: Camden Webster. Mrs. Pettit leaves to mourn her passing a son: Steven D. (Barbara) Pettit of Williamstown, KY., 2 daughters: Becky (Gilbert) Jackson and Mary Ellen Stamper, all of Dry Ridge, KY. She is survived by a daughter-in-law: Brenda Pettit of Dry Ridge, KY., and a sister-in-law: Marion Wilhoite of Dry Ridge, KY. She was blessed to have 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson. She also has several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Pettit will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, December 11 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge with Rev. Gene Hill of the Macedonia Baptist Church officiating and assisting Rev. Hill will be Rev. Gayliss Gaines. Visitation for Mrs. Pettit will be Monday evening at the funeral home from 4-9 pm. Burial will be in the Jonesville I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
