Alvena Gander, of Newport, KY. passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the St. Elizabeth Hospice in Ft. Thomas, KY. at the age of 48. Ms. Gander was born June 3, 1964 in Covington, KY. to the late William Charles Gander and Morgan Mida Gander. She was a motel housekeeper. Ms. Gander is survived by a son: James Poer, Jr. of Newport, KY. and a daughter: Christina Turner also of Newport, KY. She has 1 sister: Elizabeth Ann Chandler of Erlanger, KY. and 2 brothers: Robert A. Gander and Charles E. Gander both of Newport, KY. She also has 8 grandchildren. There will be no visitation for Ms. Gander and services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge. McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge has been entrusted with these arrangements.
