Joseph Edward Hughes,Jr. of Corinth, KY. passed away Friday, May 18 at his home at the age of 65. Mr. Hughes was born August 13, 1946 in Cincinnati, OH. to the late Joseph Edward Hughes, Sr. and Marrie McHugh Hughes. Mr. Hughes was a retired computer technician for Duke Energy and an active member of the Williamstown Volunteer Fire Dept. Mr. Hughes served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. Mr. Hughes served with the Fire Dept. Honor Guard and was a 32 year member of the American Legion Post 534 in Cincinnati, OH. Mr. Hughes was truly committed to his community and was often involved in volunteer activities or to help those in need. At the time of his passing Mr. Hughes was a member of the Stewartsville Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by a son: Michael Dissinger and by a brother: Dennis Hughes. Mr. Hughes leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Pat Stephens Hughes. 1 daughter: Marie (Alex) Farkas of Lexington, KY. and 1 son: Bryan (Lacee) Stephens of Williamsburg, OH. He has 1 sister: Beth Ann Shor of Cincinnati, OH. and 3 brothers: John Hughes and Burton (Joyce) Hughes both of Cincinnati, OH. and Albert (Monica) Hughes of Germany. He has 3 grandchildren: Amanda, Alex and Olivia and 2 great grandchildren: Rily and Ellie Funeral services for Mr. Hughes will be conducted 10:30 am Monday, May 21 in the chapel of the McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth with Bro. Bruce Harrison and Bro. Fred Powers officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday at the funeral home from 2:00 - 5:00 pm. Burial with military honors will be at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY.
