Rachel Pennington Cable

August 29, 1943 - February 10, 2012

Rachel L. Pennington-Cable of Corinth passed away Friday, February 10 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY. at the age of 68. Mrs. Cable was born August 29, 1943 in Mt. Sterling, KY. to the late Lloyd Carpenter and Ethel Ray Carpenter. Mrs. Cable retired from IBM in Lexington where she worked in assembly and later worked for the VA Medical Center in Lexington. Mrs. Cable loved to watch NASCAR racing and was a big Jeff Gordon fan. She enjoyed all sports and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cable was preceded in death by her first husband, A. J. Pennington on April 1, 1996 and she was preceded in death by 2 brothers. Mrs. Cable leaves to mourn her passing her husband: Robert Cable. She has 2 daughters: Connie Deaton of Corinth, KY. and Tammy Slone of Richmond, KY., 3 sons: Berlin J. Slone of Lexington, KY., Kirby J. Slone of Lexington, KY. and Ricky L. Carpenter of Winchester, KY., 2 sisters: Anna L. Liles of Lexington, KY. and Vickie Carpenter of Lexington, KY., 1 brother: Lloyd Carpenter, Jr. of Lexington, KY. She has several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Cable will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 14 in the chapel of the McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth with Bro. Joe Collins officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. Burial will be in the Corinth Cemetery.
