Donald June Steger, of Corinth, KY. passed away Wednesday, October 12 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Williamstown, KY. at the age of 76. Mr. Steger was born July 31, 1935 in Owen County, KY. to the late Leonard Steger and Emma Lane Steger. Mr. Steger was a retired mechanical engineer for IBM in Lexington, KY. where he worked for 27 years beginning as a draftsman and progressing to mechanical engineer. Mr. Steger invented and patented 6 inventions while at IBM. He began his career as a draftsman for Allis-Chalmers in Cincinnati, OH. Mr. Steger served his country in the United States Air Force and during that time in service he worked as a "Hurricane Hunter." Mr. Steger was a former member of the Oddfellows Lodge of Lexington, KY. and at the time of his passing was a member of the Corinth Christian Church and an active member of the Corinth Lions Club where he served as Club President for a number of years and also formerly served as Club Secretary. Mr. Steger was a devoted and beloved husband, father and grandfather and a loving caregiver. Mr. Steger leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Rita Vincent Steger, 2 sons: Tom (Debbie) Steger of Murfreesboro, TN. and Brent Steger of Corinth, KY., 2 stepdaughters: Sally Jo Michael of Redondo Beach, CA. and Caroline (Steve) Hyden of Walton, KY. He has 1 brother: Harold (Phyllis) Steger of Norwood, OH. He has 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Steger will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 15 in the chapel of the McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth with Rev. Brad Vincent and Rev. Greg Nimmo officiating. Music will be provided by Mr. Dan Sparrow. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. Burial will be in the Corinth Cemetery.
