Ellis Edward Baker

October 15, 1926 - March 24, 2011

Ellis E. Baker, of Mt. Zion, KY. passed away Thursday, March 24 at his residence at the age of 84. Mr. Baker was born October 15, 1926 in Walton, KY. to the late Elvey Baker and Eva Collins Baker. Mr. Baker was a farmer and hauled water and cattle with the Ellis Baker Trucking Co. He was a former member of the Grant County League of Property Owners and was an original member of the NFO. He was the former owner of Baker's Grocery in Mt. Zion. In addition to his parents, Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Ellen Baker who passed away August 28, 2009. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Missy Baker in 2008 and by a son: Steven Baker in 2001. Mr. Baker is survived by 2 sons: Ron Baker of Smyrna, TN. and Jeff Baker of Dry Ridge, KY. He has 2 daughters: Patti Ingram of Chattanooga, TN. and Pam Iseral of Dry Ridge, KY. Mr. Baker is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Baker will be conducted at 11:00 am, Monday, March 28 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge with Rev. Bill Page officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday at the funeral home from 5-9 pm. Burial will be in the Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.
