Jack Bruce Nunley, of Walton, KY. passed away Saturday, Sept. 25 at Hospice of the Bluegrass in Ft. Thomas at the age of 81. Mr. Nunley was born June 2, 1929 in Insull, KY. to the late John Nunley and Joie Hinkle Nunley. He retired with 26 years of service from the US Navy with rank of Lt. He served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. In more recent years Mr. Nunley was an ebay power seller. He was also a member of The Retired Officers Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Bruce Nunley. Mr. Nunley is survived by his wife: Joyce Wilkerson Nunley. He has 6 daughters: Jan Beth Boyson of St. Petersburg, FL., Jill Bea Stone of Danville, KY., Joni Brenda Mahan of Naples, FL., Judi Belinda Wagner of Charlotte, NC., Teresa Dean Thornton of Walton, KY. and Jan Nell McDaniel of Cynthiana, KY. He has 3 sons: Dallas J. Nunley of Portland, OR., Charles D. Thornton of Paris, KY. and Terry G. Thornton of Cynthiana, KY. Mr. Nunley has 5 sisters: Jean Loudermilk of Winston-Salem, NC., Geneva Jeffries of Williamsburg, KY., Virginia Barton of Chatsworth, GA., Edna Hart & Peggy Whitesell, both of Lake Wales, FL. He has 13 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Nunley will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, Sept. 29 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge. Visitation will be there on Wednesday from 10:00 am until time of services. Burial with military honors will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, Williamstown, KY.
