Norma Dean Shields, 70, of Guthrie, Oklahoma and formerly of Corinth, KY. passed away Monday, November 23, 2009 at her son's residence in Guthrie, OK. She was born May 19, 1939 in Woodford County, KY. to the late Elmer D. Cooper and Stella Hall Cooper. She was a former security guard for Pinkerton Security and she was a member of the Mortonsville Assembly of God church in Versailles, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband: James Buddy Shields, Sr. She is survived by 2 sons: James Buddy Shields, Jr. of Corinth, KY. and Jeffrey Dean Shields of Guthrie, OK. She has 3 daughters: Crystal Diane Whyte of Jacksonville, FL., Kathy Jones of Corinth, KY. and Jennifer Lynn Seelbach of Lexington, KY. She is also survived by 4 sisters: Linda Combs of Lexington, KY., Darlene Tupts of Frankfort, KY., Virginia Miller and Pamela Cooper, both of Versailles, KY. 3 brothers: Jerry Cooper and Steven Cooper, both of Versailles, KY. and Elmer D. Cooper, Jr. of Lexington, KY. She has 11 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Alice Woolridge and Elsie Shields and by a brother: Jackie Cooper.
