Mary Ellen Baker, 79, of Mt. Zion, passed away Friday, August 28 at her residence. She was born November 17, 1929 in Garrard County, KY. to the late James Stone and Margaret Huffman Stone. She was a homemaker, farmer and a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was the former owner of Baker's Grocery in Mt. Zion and she owned and operated a quilting business. She was preceded in death by a son: Steven Baker in 2001 and by a daughter: Missy Baker in 2008. She is survived by her husband: Ellis E. Baker. She has 2 daughters: Patti Ingram of Chattanooga, TN. and Pam Iseral of Dry Ridge, KY. She has 2 sons: Ron Baker of Smyrna, TN. and Jeff Baker of Dry Ridge, KY. Also surviving are 3 sisters: Johnetta Alexander of Dry Ridge, KY., Connie Ingram of Dry Ridge, KY. and Gail Brown of Anchorage, Alaska. She has 18 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great, Great Grandchildren.
