November 30, 1917 - April 26, 2008

Mr. Blain was a third generation rural mail carrier, a 70 year member and deacon of the Dry Ridge Baptist Church where he also served as Treasurer for the Church Building Fund. He was the owner of the former Blain Hardware Store in Dry Ridge. He formerly served on the Dry Ridge City Council and the Dry Ridge Fire Department. He was a lifetime member of the Grant County Fair Board and served as the Board's Secretary. He was the Secretary/Treasurer of the Rural Letter Carrier's Association, a member of the Naval Minewarfare Association, the Young at Heart Club of the Church. He was for years the scorekeeper for the Dry Ridge High School and the Grant County High School basketball games and he was a graduate of the University of Kentucky. Mr. Blain served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Navy, earning the rank of Lt. Commander.
