Addie Rose Toole Rankin

May 19, 1933 — December 7, 2022

Addie Rose Toole Rankin, 89 , of Williamstown, KY, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday December 7, 2022 at her residence; she took her last breath on earth surrounded by her loving and caring family. Born May 19, 1933 in Owen County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Owen Meredith and Eula Rose Toole.

On July 31, 1953 at Dry Ridge Baptist Church she was united in marriage to John McBeath Rankin, a union that lasted 69 years; he preceded her in death on February 22nd of this year.  Addie Rose was a kind and loving sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved people and always shared her talents and love for the Lord.  She mentored and discipled many young Christians throughout her life.

The legacy she leaves includes her many talents; she loved cooking for guest at church, writing and directing plays and musicals at church.  Over the years, she has given many voice lessons, made many wedding cakes, designed and made formal gowns for beauty pageants and loved every aspect of the art of being a good wife and mother. Music was a huge part of Addie’s life.  Taking every advantage of sharing Jesus, she radiated His love to the residents of Senior Citizen homes, hospitals and group homes. She was constantly playing and singing in many local churches and nursing homes. Her sincere love for people was boundless.

To her family, her greatest talent was love; she placed high value on family and the importance of loving the Lord above everything else.  Putting the needs of others above her own, attending to those needs and praying for others were among her greatest attributes. There was no greater joy in her life than loving and serving the Lord. She lived her life for the Glory of Jesus Christ.

Her hobbies were serving others, art, acting, singing, dancing and crafts; cooking, decorating beautiful tablescapes -- china, crystal and silver were a favorite of hers. She will be long be remembered for her hot yeast rolls and delicious cakes and pies.  Addie Rose had a heart for children and served the community as an emergency foster caregiver; she and her late husband helped meet the spiritual and emotional needs of over 60 children.  Those lives have forever been touched.  She was a faithful servant of Family Worship Center in Williamstown where she was also a member of the "Birds of a Feather" Ladies Club.

Addie Rose leaves to carry on the torch of her life and legacy to her three daughters: Mary Beth (Mark) Finn of Coatsville, PA, Lucy (Lee) Morrison of Dry Ridge, KY, Elizabeth Ann (Troy) Minkanic of Columbus, GA, along with five grandchildren: Cole (Jordan Stivers) Morrison, Laura (Jacob) Burch, Addie (Asher) Mian, Donovan Huff, Mason Minkanic and three great-grandchildren: Donnatella Williams, Aria Mian and Judah Mian. On August 20, 2021, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret "Margee" Rose Combs.

A Celebration of Addie Rose’s life will be held in early spring, at which time those arrangements will be reflected on this website.  Stanley Funeral Homes is honored to serve the Rankin family in their time of need.
