Agnes Boots Haddix

Agnes Permelia (Boots) Haddix, a longtime resident of Verona, KY died Nov. 16, 2023 from a sudden illness, surrounded by family at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Agnes was born in Franklin County, KY on Nov. 18, 1930 to the late Lucian and Lorain Boots.  Preceding her in death was her loving husband of 71 yrs James Ernest Haddix along with four brothers, Jim, Pete, Dude and Ralph, and two sisters, Mabel and Dorothy.  Agnes is survived by two sons, James Ronald Haddix (Jenny) of Fairfield, OH, Montell Haddix (Sally) of Warsaw, KY, three daughters, Linda Wendel of Verona, KY, Tina Yancey (Nelson) of Walton, KY, Elaine Jones (Steve) of Verona, KY, ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Agnes was a member of the Violet Ridge Church of Christ.  She was a lifelong farmers wife and an order picker at Levi Strauss for 7 years.  She loved to sew, quilt and garden.  She also taught Sunday School and was involved in the ladies groups at the Concord Baptist Church in younger years.  Later in life she enjoyed being with family and friends which often highlighted her spunky and witty personality.  She was a very kind hearted lady.  She also loved word search's and was quite an avid reader.  She also enjoyed a good Bengals game.  She will be forever missed and treasured.

Visitation will be Monday, November 20, 2023 from 5-8pm at the Hamilton - Stanley Funeral Home in Verona, KY.  Funeral will be Tuesday at 11am. Bro. Dave Shanklin will be officiating services.  Agnes will be laid to rest next to her husband at the New Bethel Cemetery in Verona, KY.  Memorials are suggested to the Violet Ridge Church of Christ.
