Alva "Hanson" Stone

Alva “Hanson” Stone of Berry, KY was born April 23, 1934 in Pendleton County, KY and died Sunday, March 16, 2025 in Butler, KY at the age of 90 years.

He was the son of the late Clarence L. and Corrine L. Gill Stone. He was a farmer and retired bookkeeper from Grant County Concrete, and was a member of the Stringtown Christian Church.

He was a graduate of the Morgan High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University. On November 10, 1956 he was united in marriage to his wife June Rose Berninger Stone who preceded him in death on March 15, 2019. Also preceding him in death was a son, Daniel Stone and brother, Calvin Leroy Stone.

Surviving are his daughters, Rebecca (Ed) Martin of Newnan GA, Laura Stone of Celina TX, and Kimberly (Nathan) Forman of Union; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; sisters, Carlene Caldwell of Butler, Marilyn Weatherford of Covington, and Willena Beagle of Lexington; and daughter-in-law, Brenda Stone of Versailles.

Funeral services are Friday, March 21, 2025 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown, KY followed by burial in the Hill Crest Cemetery. Visitation will also be Friday 11:00am-1:00pm at the funeral home.
