Mr. Alvin Louis "Albey" Cummins, Sr., a Williamstown resident, passed away at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at the age of 79. He was the husband of the late Carol Ann Cummins.
Mr. Cummins was a former fork lift operator for Dover Elevator in Oakley, OH. He was a member of the Unity Baptist Church. He loved farming, gardening, woodworking, carpentry, but most of all he loved to interact socially with friends and neighbors.
Mr. Cummins was born in Covington, KY on April 4, 1940 to the late Alvin Thornton Cummins and Betty Jane Dickens Cummins. He joined the Army in 1956 and was united in marriage to Carol Ann Cummins thereafter.
In addition to his late wife Carol, he is preceded in death by one son, Garney M. Cummins. He is survived by six sons, Alvin L. Cummins, Jr., Charles T. Cummins, and Kenneth P. Cummins, all of Cold Spring, KY, Marc A. Cummins of Williamstown, KY, Johnny L. Cummins of Dry Ridge, KY, Robert Stith of Crossville, TN, one daughter, Debra Jo Geromette of Highland, MI, two brothers, Larry Butch Cummins of Huber Heights, OH, Richard Calvin Cummins of Walton, KY, two sisters, Betty Mae Thibodeaux of Erlanger, KY, Donna Pearly Woodyard of Bellevue, KY, 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 12 noon at the KY Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY. Ellison - Stanley Funeral Home of Williamstown is handling arrangements.
