Archie "Dean" Gilbert

Archie “Dean” Gilbert, 56, of Dry Ridge, KY, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday April 17, 2024. Born on  Sunday July 10, 1966 in Edgewood, KY, he was the son of the late Bobby and Marla “Jane” Conley Gilbert.

He was a graduate of Grant County High School. Trucking has always been a large part of Dean’s life; at the time of his passing, he was driving for Walmart Incorporated where he drove to all surrounding states delivering their products. He enjoyed being in the outdoors; he used his wide assortment of talents and skills to build and provide improvements to his home, as well as various other projects. Grilling outdoors for the family on any of his seven grills, brought him much satisfaction and fulfillment. However, nothing was more fulfilling in his life than being a “Papaw” to his grandchildren.

He leaves to mourn his passing, one daughter: Heather (Cody) Caldwell of Dry Ridge; one son: Keven Gilbert of Corinth; one brother: Danny Gilbert and one sister: Redonna Thomas, both of Dry Ridge. Five grandchildren also survive: Emma, Madison, Charlotte, Haley and Jessie, along with numerous cousins, most notably, a special cousin, Chris Wynn.

Visitation will be Tuesday April 23, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home in Dry Ridge.  Funeral services will begin at 1:00. Burial will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge.
