Barbara J."Barb" Owen

Barbara J. “Barb” Owen of Dry Ridge, KY was born Aug. 8, 1937 in Dry Ridge and died Wed. Sept. 15, 2021 in Edgewood, KY at the age of 84.

She was the daughter of the late Willie and Jennie Evans Burgess, she retired as the Director of the Dry Ridge Housing Authority in 2016, and was a member of the Dry Ridge Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie Rose, and 4 siblings, James Burgess, Lucille (Willie) Fritz, Jewell Rose (Robert) Schulte, and Beulah (Kline) Hedges.

Surviving are 1 daughter, Staci Owen of Dry Ridge; 1 son, Steve (Dawn) Owen of Berea; 1 brother, Bobby (Kathy) Burgess of Dry Ridge; son-in-law, Gary Rose of Crittenden; and 5 grandchildren Joshua Rose, Jennie Rose, Ashley Owen, Lane Owen, and London Owen.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown followed by burial in the Williamstown Cemetery. Visitation will also be Saturday 11:00am – 2:00pm at the funeral home.
