Bernard Edward Mardis was born April 23, 1938 in Cordova, Kentucky and passed away February 21, 2022 in Warsaw, Kentucky at the age of 83. He was the son of the late Clyde and Emmaline Cleveland Mardis.
Bernard was a retired Dispatcher for the Kentucky State Police, from which he retired in 1988 after 33 years of service. He was a devoted member of the Williamstown Christian Church and the Williamstown Kiwanis. Bernard volunteered many years with KET Fundraisers. He enjoyed collecting trains and miniature tractors and loved Christmas songs and decorations.
He is survived by 2 nieces: Carol Jane Herron Garrison of Williamstown and Donna Faye Herron Smith of Williamstown; a great nephew: Edward Wayne Smith of Williamstown; 2 great nieces: Emily Frances Garrison of Williamstown and Megan Christina Garrison Harris of Dry Ridge; and 2 great great nieces: Taylor Smith and Lydia Grace Harris.
In addition to his parents, Bernard was preceded in death by his sister, Geneva Frances Herron.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown. Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Williamstown Cemetery.
