Bessie Mae West

Mrs. Bessie Mae Woodyard West of Reynoldsburg, OH., passed away Saturday, February 13 at her home at the age of 83.  Mrs. West was born August 21, 1937 in Harlan County, KY. to the late Clyde Woodyard and Mae Profitt Woodyard.  Mrs. West retired from her family owned industrial supply business in Columbus, Ohio where she managed the office and kept customers and suppliers happy with her outstanding people skills, developed during her earlier career managing busy restaurants in both Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio.  She was an artist of considerable talent and produced many notable oil paintings.  Friends and family know Mrs. West as a loving wife, mother, and dependable friend, always willing to help someone in need.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. West was preceded in death by six sisters and six brothers.

Mrs. West's life is celebrated by her husband of sixty-one years, Frederick, her three daughters, Linda, Victoria, and Angela, five grandsons, seven granddaughters, twenty-eight great-grandchildren.  Bessie loved her nieces and nephews.  Talking on the phone with her grandson, Jason Boswell and nieces Brenda Brake, Jennifer Sullivan, and Shirley McGrath put a smile on her face during many of the long hard hours of her last few months.  She and Frederick married December 9, 1959 and have worked together to help each other in various business and personal enterprises for six decades.

Funeral servcies for Mrs. Bessie Mae Woodyard West will be conducted 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 24 in the chapel of the McDaniel Funeral Home, 440 Old Corinth-Owenton Road, Corinth, KY. 41010 with Rev. David "Milkweed" Wotier officiating.  Visitation will also be Wednesday, February 24 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.  Burial will be in the New Columbus Cemetery, Owen County.

Masks or face coverings will be required for all attending and social distancing guidelines are requested to be observed.
