Betty Black Cornelius

Betty Black Cornelius was born Aug. 13, 1944 in Union, Kentucky and passed away Jan. 23, 2022 at her residence in Morning View, Kentucky at the age of 77.  She was the daughter of the late William and Beulah Barnett Black.

Betty earned her associates degree and became a Registered Nurse.  She worked for many years at Rosedale Manor in Covington.  She spent much of her free time working on her farm with her family. Additionally, one of her favorite pastimes was birdwatching.

She was a member of the Piner Baptist Church as well as a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, in November 2014.  She was also preceded in death by a son: David Cornelius; 2 brothers: Bob and Kenny Black; and 3 sisters: Bonnie and Peggy Black and Rocky Proffitt.

Surviving is a son: Bill Cornelius and his wife, Becky, of Morning View; 3 brothers: Mike, Bill and Jim Black; 5 sisters: Jigs Raley, Florence Monroe, Phyllis Proffitt, Patty Black and Renee Proffitt; a granddaughter: Bobbie Jo Cornelius; and 2 great grandchildren: Elijah and Logan.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, January 28, 2022 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Crittenden with Rev. Jerry Spegal officiating.  Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Carter's Chapel Cemetery in Demossville.
