Betty Jane Mcclanahan

Betty Jane McClanahan was born Sept. 3, 1927 in Grant County, Kentucky and passed away May 12, 2021 in Williamstown, Kentucky at the age of 93.  She was the daughter of the late Lemuel Riley and Mary Elizabeth Jones McClanahan.

Betty was a retired secretary with Grant County Health Department after 30+ years.  She was a graduate of Dry Ridge High School and a member of Dry Ridge Christian Church.  She was an avid reader.  She will be remembered by her family as a "surrogate mom" to all of her nieces and nephews and anyone she came to know.

Aunt B, as she is lovingly known by family, is survived by 12 nieces and nephews: Sandra Lillard, Kenny McClanahan, Jimmy McClanahan, Judy Connor, Rita Tew, Phillip McClanahan, Roy Martin, Bill Martin, Dianne Mulberry, Dennis McClanahan, Donna McClanahan and Deana Chandler; 25 great nieces and nephews; and 42 great great nieces and nephews.

Aunt B was 1 of 10 children born to Lemuel and Mary Elizabeth.  She was preceded in death by all 9 of her siblings: Charles McClanahan, Irvin McClanahan, Floyd McClanahan, Dawson McClanahan, Clay McClanahan, Ralph McClanahan, Goldie Tebelman, Mae Colcord and Stella Martin.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown.  Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Hill Crest Cemetery.
