Betty Sue Ware Callahan

Betty "Sue" Ware Callahan, a Dry Ridge resident, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, KY at the age of 87.  She was the widow of Eishmal Lee Callahan.

Sue was born in Grant Co., KY on December 24, 1936 to the late Homer Ware and Madie Delilah Vallandingham.  She was united in marriage to Eishmal Lee Callahan on September 2, 2000.  She was a former farmer and former maid for the Red Carpet Inn in Richwood, KY.  She was a member of the Violet Ridge Church of Christ.  She loved growing roses in her flower garden, vacationing on the beach, watching Atlanta Braves Baseball, UK Basketball and was a huge NASCAR fan where she loved to watch Dale Earnhardt race.

Sue is survived by four sons, Brian (Brenda) Stith, Clarence R. Souder, Rodney G. Souder, Gregory C. Souder, three daughters, Robin R. Brossart, D. Sue Dumont, Sheila A. Souder, one sister Margie Byrd, special nephew, Robert Callahan and several grandchildren.  In addition to her husband Lee, she is preceded in death by two sons, Dale Stith, Randy Clint Souder, one grandson, Brandon Stith, one brother, Billy Ware and three sisters, Helen Baker, Norma Sharpe, and Dorothy Brown.

Graveside services will be on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 11am at the Ky Veteran's Cemetery North, Williamstown, KY.  Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home is handling arrangements.  Memorials are suggested to the Shriner's Burn Institute.
