Bobby Kenneth Elam

July 14, 1946 — November 18, 2022

Mr. Bobby Kenneth Elam, a Verona resident, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022 at the Boonesprings nursing home in Union, KY at the age of 76. Bobby was born on July 14, 1946 to the late Robert M. Elam and Edna Phipps Elam. He was a Sgt in the U.S. Army in the 1960's. He was a truck driver for Plymouth Steel for over 40 years. Bobby was an avid outdoorsman whom loved fishing, hunting, archery, playing cards, gardening, farming and volunteering at turkey shoots. He was a former member of the Good Guys Club and the Masons. Most of all, he loved his family and grandchildren. Bobby is survived by one daughter, Melissa G. Elam-Alsip (Jason), one brother Donald Elam (Lena), one brother in law, Bill Rollins, two grandchildren, Sydney Alsip and Weslee Alsip, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six brothers: Walter, James "Elwood", Virgil, Richard, Johnny Wayne and David; and three sisters: Wilma Darlene Higgins, Norma Jean Rollins, and Viola Morris. A celebration of life memorial visitation and service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 1-3pm at the Hamilton - Stanley Funeral Home in Verona, KY. Bro. Terry Centers will be officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research.
