Rev. Bobby Jewell was born January 21, 1932 in Bell County, Kentucky and passed away July 7, 2020 at his residence in Georgetown, Kentucky at the age of 88. He was the son of the late Roy Jewell and Dora Inman Jewell Smith.
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife Mary Betty Durham Jewell. In addition he was preceded in death by a son: Darrell Wayne Jewell; a daughter: Shirley Senters; a grandaughter: Opal Rose Jewell; 4 brothers: Virgil Smith, James Jewell, Rev. Earl Jewell and Andrew Smith; and 5 sisters: Rosemary Connley, Geneva Angel, Betty Jean Hair, Dorothy Duff and Brenda Brinsom.
He is survived by a son: Harold Dean Jewell of Georgetown; 3 daughters: Frances Jean Roberts of LaFollette, TN, Dora Myleta Partin of Corinth, and Jo Ann Michael of Williamstown; 1 brother: Douglas Smith of Cincinnati; a sister: Linda Kersey of Cincinnati; 21 Grandchildren; 62 Great Grandchildren; and 32 Great Great Grandchildren.
Rev. Jewell was a retired machine operator for Dayton Safety Ladder Co. after 36 years with the company. In 1985, he founded the Williamstown Pentecostal Holiness Church in Williamstown, Kentucky and continued as the pastor of the church for 35 years. He was a proud supporter of Gideons International and International Fellowship of the Jews, as well as other religious organization and charities. As busy as he was he still found time for his favorite hobbies: woodworking and landscaping.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Williamstown Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Danny Patterson officiating. Visitation will also be Saturday at the church from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM. He will be laid to rest next to his wife, Mary, in Williamstown Cemetery.
