Brenda Laverne Colson

Brenda Laverne Breeden Colson was born Jan. 9, 1947 in Williamstown, Kentucky and passed away peacefully July 1, 2022 in Dry Ridge, Kentucky.  She was the daughter of the late Clarence Lee and Anna Mary Collier Breeden.

On Aug. 24, 1965 Brenda was united in marriage to Thomas Wayne Colson who preceded her in death in 2018.  She is survived by her son, Timothy Wayne Colson and his wife Dawn, of Dry Ridge; a brother, Dennis Breeden and his wife Kathleen, of Dry Ridge; a sister: Barbara Lee Breeden of Erlanger; 4 nieces: Stacey Straub, Brandi Breeden, Holly Crum and Anna Lee Brock; 2 nephews: Chris Shelton and Nathan Colson; and 6 great nephews: Luke Colson, Levi Colson, Zack Straub, Ian Straub, Remington Crum and Ronald Brock.

Brenda retired from the IRS in Covington as a Lead Tax Examiner in 2018.  She was a member of the Vine Run Baptist Church in Dry Ridge.  In her free time she enjoyed gardening, including both her flower and vegetable garden.  She loved canning the vegetables from her garden, travelling to flower shows, and was well known for her quilt making.  She also loved all her animals, especially her two cats, Mickey and Minnie.

Visitation will be 5:00 - 8:00 PM, Friday, July 8, 2022 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown.  Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the New Vine Run Cemetery in Dry Ridge.
