Callie Davis

Callie Carpenter Davis was born March 3, 1941 in Clay County, Kentucky and passed away March 20, 2025 at her home in Independence, Kentucky at the age of 84.  She was the daughter of the late John Speed and Lula Lipps Carpenter.

Callie was a homemaker who worked as a caregiver in local nursing homes and private in home care.  She loved traveling with family and going out to eat.  She also enjoyed shopping for her family, as well as a little splurging on herself.  One of Callie's passions was her flower garden, where she loved working in her flowers as well as picking them.  In her younger days she always made sure to have her "digger" in her car so she could take home some flowers that she may not already have in her garden.  While she had several hobbies, Callie's greatest enjoyment was her family.  She dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren who lovingly knew her as Nanny.  Nothing mattered besides her family!

On Oct. 3, 1964 Callie was united in marriage to Carl Lane Davis who preceded her in death in 1979.  Surviving are four daughters: Sheila (Michael) Davis of Bowling Green, Carla (Chuck) Robinson of Independence, Tina (Rick) Wallace of Florence and Kristen Allen of Independence; 10 grandchildren: Christopher, Katie, Crystal, Andy, Haley, Cassie, Caden, Emma, Josie and Peyton; and 11 great grandchildren: Kira, Lily, Kayden, Karson, Kingslee, Kyleigh, Jeremiah, Keegan, Violet, Joseph and Jonathan.

In addition to her husband, Callie was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph, and her 7 seven siblings, Dorothy Carpenter, Jay Carpenter, Opal Elliott, Joseph Carpenter, Don Carpenter, Elsie Davis and George Carpenter.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 132 S. Main St., Crittenden, KY  41030.  Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Crittenden, KY.  Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery.
