Carl Edward Caldwell was born in Flingsville, Kentucky in Grant County on January 30, 1945 and passed away at his residence in Dry Ridge on May 28, 2020 at the age of 75. He was the son of the late Elbert Marion and Edith Roberta Flynn Caldwell. On July 1, 1967 Ed was united in marriage with Sharon Kay Dean.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his daughter, Carrie Lynn Faulkner, widow of Fred Faulkner, of Dry Ridge; eight brothers: Harold Lee “Jim” (Carol) Caldwell of Crittenden, Thomas Marion (Addie) Caldwell of Dry Ridge, Donald Melvin (Barbara) Caldwell of Crestview Hills, Terry Wayne Caldwell of Crittenden, Gerald Stephen “Jerry” (Lettie) Caldwell of Dry Ridge, Royce Anthony “Tony” Caldwell of Crittenden, John Gregory (Cris) Caldwell of Crittenden and Jeffrey Allen Caldwell of Radcliff; five sisters: Alberta M. Caldwell of Dry Ridge, Janet Rogers of Crittenden, Barbara Mae (Ronnie) Smith of Dry Ridge, Melinda Sue Epperson of Dry Ridge and Laura Denise (Brian) Rodgers of Crittenden; six grandchildren: Houston Moore, Aaron Moore, Austin Faulkner, David Faulkner, Karlas Faulkner and Brandon Faulkner; seven great grandchildren: Cason Moore, Carter Moore, Macy Moore, Novalyee Moore, Colton Moore, Caleb Moore and Aubrey Faulkner. Two sisters predeceased Ed: Helen Marilyn Adams and Frances Carlene Livingood.
Mr. Caldwell retired from the R. A. Jones Company after 20 years and had previously worked for the Old American Tool Company as an electrician. He loved farming, bowling and attending Tractor and Machinery Shows. One of his most cherished times was restoring an old F12 International Farmall Tractor. He attended the Crittenden Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM, Monday, June 1, 2020 at the Crittenden Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM with burial in the Hill Crest Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Crittenden Baptist Church
