Carl Lee Howe

June 22, 1933 — January 6, 2025

Carl Lee Howe , 91, of Dry Ridge, KY, entered his eternal home on Monday January 6, 2025 at the Grant Center - Williamstown.  Born on June 22, 1933 in Dry Ridge, KY, he was the son of the late Harry Nicholas and Katherine Bennett Howe.

On August 22, 1959 Carl was united in marriage to the former Janet Kinmon; she survives. Upon graduating from Dry Ridge High School, he proudly entered the U. S. Army.  He was the owner and operator of Howe Heating and Cooling for 35 years.  Upon retirement from his HVAC company in 1985, he became the Maintenance Supervisor for Grant Co. School System; he retired there on July 31, 2009.  At Grant Co. High School Basketball games he served as the clock-keeper for over 40 years.  Every year the family vacation consisted of them going to the Sweet Sixteen (KHSAA) Boy’s State Basketball Tournament, an occasion they always planned their schedule around. He was a faithful member of Dry Ridge Christian Church where he served as an Elder for 55 years. Farming played a huge part in Carl’s life. Every farmer puts his land to rest for the winter.  On spring’s horizon it is brought back to life. God has put this farmer to rest; he now walks the horizon to a new life.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 65 years, Janet Clara Kinmon; one daughter: Patti Marie (David) Noel of Dry Ridge, KY; two sons: Steve Nicholas (Monica) Howe of Dry Ridge, KY, Stephen Todd (Edith) Howe of New Richmond, OH; two brothers: Harry Wayne Howe of Williamstown, KY; Clyde “Pete” (Elnora) Howe of Florence, KY and one sister: Betty Louise Webster of Dry Ridge, KY.  Seven grandchildren also survive: Shantel Ledonne, Deanna Wynn, Karla Noel, Boston Howe, Lincoln Howe, Kilee Birch and Ethan Howe, along with eight great-grandchildren: Tyler Wynn, Lane Wynn, McNeill Howe, Clayton Howe, Willow Grace Tebleman, Axl Rese, Asa Birch and Lenny Birch, all lovingly knew him as “Papaw”.  In addition to his parents, Harry and Katherine Howe, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Violet Stewart Howe; she passed on September 11, 1957.
